February 8th – Mid-Week Worship at 6:20 pm led by Pastor Andrew Scanlon Holmes. Childcare provided.
This week at Wednesday Wellspring…
Dinner will be served between 5:30 – 6:15 pm: Menu… Fettuccine Alfredo, Spaghetti with meat sauce or plain tomato sauce, bread, salad and dessert prepared by Girl Scout Troop 456. All proceeds go directly to Troop 456. (Adults $5.00, Youth $3.00 and Family $15.00 max.). Requested R.S.V.P. no later than Tuesday.
Programs: “Be A Camper” informational meeting, with Pastor Sean and Beth and Andy Patton (Fellowship Hall) and “Cooking with Stephanie Eads” (in the kitchen)
February 8th and 15th - Faithful Feet Practices for ages 6 and up will be 7:00 - 7:30 pm. Due to Ash Wednesday service, our last practice will be on Thursday, February 23rd, 6:00 – 6:30 pm. Performance will be on February 26th at 10:45 am. We are always looking for new dancers. Contact Jennifer Hinshaw at jhhinshaw@avon-schools.org.
February 8th - Youth Book Club will begin with its first meeting at 4:00 pm. We will be buying the first book to get the club started. If you are in high school and would like to participate, contact Pastor Sean to find out which book they are reading this month.
February 18th - Valentine’s Dinner sponsored by UMM will be here starting at 6:00 pm. A free-will donation will be accepted -
$12.00/adult and $5.00 for children ages 6 - 12 and free for children under the age of 5. Dinner will be grilled steak or chicken breast, baked potato and tossed salad and dessert.
February 21st - Avon UMC Diabetes Group will meet at 7:00 pm in the Parlor. The topic is “Chair” Exercises, with SanDee Miller, Aerobics Instructor.
PLAY-N-SHARE REGISTRATION 2012-2013 SCHOOL YEAR
Registration Packets will be available in the Play-N-Share office beginning Monday, February 6th. We will be having pre-registration for current families, church families, and prior families. Class sizes are limited, so early registration is encouraged. If you have any questions regarding registration, please contact Kitty Wilson at 272-1786 or kittywilson@avonumc.com. Please fill out and return the packets with the registration fee no later than Friday, February 24th. Every effort will be made to place children on the day or days requested. Any spots remaining will be open to the public on Friday, March 2nd.

Sprouts need your palm branches…the Sprouts will be burning palms as part of the process of preparing for Ash Wednesday led by Pastor Karen. Please bring in your palms through Tuesday, February 14th. Baskets will be in the church narthex or you can place them in the Christian Education office. Thank you!
Avon UMC Business Directory: Please look for your copy of the first Avon UMC Business Directory, included with your February Flame. Please keep this on hand and support members and attendees who have placed ads. Copies will be distributed to those who receive the Flame electronically, sometime in February. The Endowment Fund Committee would like to offer sincere thanks to all who submitted advertisements, designed the directory, printed and assembled it.
