We recently ended (July 14-18) our week-long Vacation Bible School with 230+ children and $1205.82 collected for Nothing but Nets and Tabitha USA. The 5th/6th grade class wrote letters and donated two boxes of snack foods to be sent to soldiers in Iraq.
Surfin’ Through the Scriptures VBS included stories, crafts, recreation, music and snacks. On the last day, the Washington Township Avon Fire Department showed off their truck and sprayed eager participants! Nothing but Nets is a grassroots campaign to save lives by preventing malaria, leading killer of children in Africa. One bed net costs $10.00 to buy and deliver to individuals. Tabitha brings international volunteer building teams to Cambodia to provide money and work to construct small houses. Each house costs $960. Tabitha also digs wells for families that don’t have clean water don’t have clean water access. The VBS children also collected food for the Brightwood Community Center in Indianapolis.
