What should I expect when I visit?
We here at AUMC desire that you experience God in new and exciting ways. When you come to worship with us, you will experience a community of faith that looks to Sundays and being in each other’s presence. You can come and participate in great music, encouraging messages, welcoming people, and the feeling of God's loving presence.
We have no expectations how you come, so dress how you feel comfortable, and only give when you desire, because we want you to know you are received as a guest. We realize that any visit to any church takes courage, and bring with you questions so please contact us with any you have.
What does Avon United Methodist Church have for me?
Avon UMC offers many different ways of allowing you to experience God and us. You are invited to our worship services at 8:15 am, 9:30 am, 10:45 am or 6:30 pm. During the 9:30 am worship service, you can really experience the community that is offered for you in one of our numerous Sunday School classes for all ages: children, youth, young adults, young couples, and adults. There is also Children's Worship at 8:15 am and 10:45 am.
Really, the best way to know more about us is to go to the other areas of our website in particular our “Ministries” tab on the homepage of our website. This website will give you an insiders view of our church and help you know how best to make the most of your visit.
Do you have Sunday morning refreshments?
You will find in our Narthex and kitchen refreshment for your enjoyment. We have donuts, brewed coffee, tea, and water. In addition, we have sugar-free options, which are a bit more healthy for those who desire it. All is available by donation.
