Your Faith Journey 30

Your Faith Journey
Day of Pentecost

Invest in the Disconnected – Acts 8 reveals that Philip, one of the twelve disciples, was escaping persecution and hid among the Samaritan people. While there he relied upon the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit to do miraculous things for the Samaritans as a way to prepare them to receive the message about the source of his power, Jesus Christ. It’s time for Jesus’ 21st-century disciples in Avon to rely upon the Spirit of the living God to do what only He can do in us, through us, and for others. As hearts and minds become prepared for receiving Christ, then we can effectively share the Good News to transform lives.

Develop as a Disciple – A “disciple” of Jesus is a faithful follower of Christ who has placed their faith in Him as Savior and is continuing to surrender more of their life to His lordship. A disciple of Jesus becomes more and more like Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit, personal choices, and holy habits. If you are a Christian, how would you describe this season of your journey as a disciple of Christ? Are you becoming more like Jesus or drifting further from Him? If you’re drifting, what small habit do you need to start to begin growing closer to Christ?
