Wesley’s Treehouse
Wesley’s Treehouse is designed to build a community for children, where they can build and foster healthy, Christian relationships with God and one another while exploring their faith. Children will create art pieces that are focused on the season and on God.
Children will need to adhere to social distancing guidelines per the Indiana state government. Temperature checks will be performed. Also, masks and hand sanitizer will be available. Children will be spaced a minimum of 6 feet apart to ensure they are properly distanced. Each child will be given a “work area” that they are to stay within the boundaries during class (except for group games and activities in which children will be required to wear a mask). Once they reach their “work area”, they will be allowed to take off their mask (however they need to put it back on if they leave for any reason – bathrooms, group games, etc.) Each child will be provided with a bucket or box at their spot that includes the needed supplies for the class (minus group games, if offered). Any materials left behind each week (buckets, markers, dry erase boards, etc.) will be sanitized before the following week. Any paper materials, crafts, etc. will go home with the child (or be thrown out if left behind).
Who: Kindergarten through 4th grade (Wesley’s Treehouse and Bee-Attitudes will meet together temporarily due to the current heath crisis.)
Location: Wesley’s Pavilion (nice weather) or Fellowship Hall (rainy or snowy days)
Date: Every Thursday from August 6th through May 20th
Wesley’s Treehouse follows the Avon school calendar. When Avon schools are not in session, Wesley’s Treehouse will not meet.
Time: 4:15 – 5:15 pm
Registration is required: please contact Kateri Crawford at kcrawford@avonumc.com to register or sign up through the link in the weekly newsletter

Brick Building with the Bible
(Open to families with children under the age of 12)
Families will compete by presenting the most creative and accurate scene from the Bible story of the week. Every Saturday morning, I will post the story of the week on the Avon UMC Children’s Ministry Facebook page. Families will have until 5:00 pm on Friday afternoon to submit photos and a video explaining the scene they have depicted to me at kcrawford@avonumc.com.
Your family creation is judged by members of the church whom are not eligible to participate. Your photos and videos will be sent anonymously with only a number to ensure fairness and to avoid favoritism. Once the judges have voted, the winner will be announced and all photos will be uploaded on Facebook.
But, weekly winners also receive bragging rights! At the end of this health crisis, the family with the most wins will take home a new LEGO set. Good Luck!
