When he saw the Christ child in the Temple of the Lord in Jerusalem when Jesus was taken there to be dedicated to God, a righteous man named Simeon declared,
“Sovereign Lord…
I have seen your salvation,
which you have prepared for all people.
He is a light to reveal God to the nations,
and he is the glory of your people Israel!”” – Luke 2:29-32 NLT
For Simeon, Jesus was the sign of God’s salvation that had been prepared for all people. A light to reveal God to the nations of the world.
